In the aftermath of Maki Zenin’s brutal massacre of the Zenin clan, she encounters her mother inside a kitchen. Maki questions her about the warning she gave before Maki entered the cursed warehouse — a small act of mercy amidst the family’s cruelty. However, Maki’s mother, overwhelmed by fear, trauma, and confusion, cannot even remember doing so. The unsettling confrontation ends in tragedy as Maki’s mother succumbs to her wounds, her blood staining the walls.
Meanwhile, Naoya Zenin, fatally wounded from his battle with Maki, collapses in another building. Even in his final moments, Naoya scorns Maki for letting him live, mocking her perceived weakness. However, as fate turns against him, Maki’s mother appears behind him, holding a kitchen knife. Despite her own slit throat, she uses her last moments of life to stab Naoya in the back, finishing him off. As both collapse, Maki’s mother, with her dying breath, quietly expresses relief that she gave birth to Maki and Mai, offering a bittersweet closure to their tragic family history.
